Mission Statement

Preston University’s mission is to offer high quality postsecondary educational opportunities to enable students from locations around the world to reach their individual academic goals. Preston provides undergraduate and graduate programs in business, technology, education and other professional areas of study to enable students to develop the intellectual, analytical, communication and performance skills needed for success in contemporary careers. The school’s programs are designed primarily for distance education delivery methods and focused for working adults who are capable of independent study and who understand the value of lifelong learning. By completing the focused curricula in each academic field of knowledge, Preston graduates learn the
essential values of dedication and persistence, while demonstrating the key skills of effective communication and analytical research ability. Our goal is for each Preston University student to become a well-rounded individual who possesses the knowledge and skills necessary for continued personal growth and professional advancement.

This mission is accomplished by offering a mix of theoretical and practical course work in a variety of key disciplines, and delivered by highly qualified and experienced faculty. The individualized learning environment incorporates proven and effective instructional techniques including use of student centered research, written reports, case studies, and applied projects. Preston University distance education courses incorporate traditional text books, directed course work, use of local and online library resources, and supervised research assignments.

Vision
The vision of Preston University is to be recognized as an international school of higher education with a highly qualified faculty that provides rigorous, demanding undergraduate and graduate programs in a variety of academic fields to students in locations around the world. We will achieve this vision by providing realistic, attainable, quality educational opportunities for students in both developed and under served countries. Our graduates will succeed in their personal lives and professional careers, and will promote the School to
employers, associates and others.


Objectives
Preston University seeks to fulfill the following objectives through delivery of quality, contemporary academic courses in a variety of disciplines to students around the world.

  • Make higher education accessible to qualified students in areas of the world where limited opportunities for advanced education exist.
  • Create an atmosphere of open communication, dedication to quality education, honesty in all actions, and fairness to students, faculty and staff in all decisions.
  • Develop a meaningful curriculum of courses in each academic field that will serve students well in their personal and professional lives in contemporary society. Incorporate into each course,relevant, measurable performance criteria through which to accurately assess student competency and learning.
  • Engage sufficient qualified and skilled faculty from around the world who can effectively mentor
    and teach students in a motivating and supportive learning environment.
  • Provide sufficient support in the form of library and online academic database resources for students to conduct meaningful and current research studies.
  • Employ sufficient trained staff to support academic and student support operations as the school
    grows in the months and years to come.
  • Create realistic admissions standards for all applicants that recognize differences in cultural and educational policies in various countries of the world, while implementing the basic criteria for entry into and successful completion of higher education programs in the United States’ system of education.
  • Maintain a business model that sets realistic prices for academic services in each economic region of the world to enable potential access to Preston services by the average student in that area.
  • Implement a system of shared governance wherein faculty expertise in education and academic issues is recognized, valued and actively sought, and where all organizational and management decisions derive from strategic guidance of the President and Board.
  • Systematically apply principles of continuous improvement to help refine and develop the effectiveness of our academic programs, student services and business practices.

    The goal of all Preston University degree programs is to offer students the opportunity to obtain a high quality education—one designed to develop well-rounded individuals who possess the skills necessary for personal growth and professional advancement. Graduation from Preston University is not a guarantee of employment in one’s field of study.
